cork flooring is known as "pyramid consumption of flooring". Cork is an oak growing along the Mediterranean coast and in Qinling Mountains of China, and the raw material of cork products is the bark of oak. Compared with solid wood flooring, cork is more environmentally friendly, soundproof, moisture-proof effect will be better, and bring people an excellent foot feel. Cork floor is soft, quiet, comfortable and wear-resistant. It can provide great cushioning effect for the elderly and children to fall accidentally. Its unique sound-absorbing effect and thermal insulation performance are also very suitable for bedrooms, meeting rooms, libraries, recording studios and other places

choose cork flooring according to local conditions:

cork flooring is divided into five categories as follows:

category 1: cork flooring has no covering layer on the surface, and this product is the earliest

class II: paint on the surface of cork floor. Namely, apply UV varnish or color paint or photosensitive varnish PVA on the surface of cemented cork. According to different types of paint, it can be divided into three types, namely high gloss, matte and flat gloss. This is the technology of the 1990s. Such products have high requirements for the surface of cork flooring, that is, the cork used is relatively pure

class III: PVC veneer, that is, covering the surface of cork floor with PVC veneer, its structure is usually four layers: the surface layer adopts PVC veneer, with a thickness of 0.45mm; The second layer is a natural cork decorative layer with a thickness of 0.8mm; The third layer is a cemented cork layer with a thickness of 1.8mm; The bottom layer is the stress balance and Waterproof PVC layer, which is very important. If there is no such layer, when the material is thermosetting, the PVC surface will cool and shrink, which will cause the whole floor to warp. This kind of floor is currently favored by consumers in Beijing and Shanghai

the fourth category; PVC veneer, thickness 0.45mm; The second layer is natural thin wood, with a thickness of 0.45mm; The third layer is cemented cork, with a thickness of about 2mm; The bottom layer is made of PVC board, which is as waterproof as the third type. At the same time, the stress on the board surface is balanced, and its thickness is about 0.2mm

category V: plastic cork floor, resin bonded cork floor, rubber cork floor

1. The first kind of cork floor: the cork layer is slightly thick, the texture is pure, and the surface layer is only 0.1~0.2 thick. The thin, soft, high-strength wear-resistant layer will not affect the performance of cork. Its wear-resistant surface material is non-toxic, odorless, odorless and durable, which can be pre coated in the factory. The back of cork is coated with pressure-sensitive adhesive and covered with isolation paper, which is extremely convenient for users, As long as the isolation paper is removed, it can be directly pasted on the clean and dry cement floor. This kind of floor can be designed and pasted by users themselves, which is very convenient. In addition, the paint surface can also be painted as a whole after the cork floor is paved. This process is widely used in Australia, Singapore and other countries. If you can change shoes in the bedroom and don't bring sand into it, there is generally no problem with a service life of 10-15 years

2. For shops, corridors and places where it is difficult to avoid sand particles due to heavy traffic, the second and third types of floors should be used. Its surface layer has a thick flexible wear-resistant layer, and the sand particles will not slide after being pressed into the wear-resistant layer. When the feet leave, the sand particles will be ejected and will not scratch the wear-resistant surface, which is its advantage; However, although the surface layer is non-toxic PVC, pure PVC resin cannot be used as a wear-resistant protective layer. It is brittle and easy to age, so plasticizers, heat stabilizers, light stabilizers, anti adhesion agents, antistatic agents, etc. should be added to the formula. Although the floor formula strictly requires that these additives are non-toxic, at least the plasticizer is tasteful, easy to migrate to the PVC surface, easy to be leached by solvents, and may also accelerate the aging of products, so it is not suitable for bedroom pavement. At the same time, these two types of glued cork layers have been over compressed, so the functions of heat insulation, sound reduction, shock absorption and so on become worse. At present, some domestic consumers advocate foreign products and blindly choose the second and third foreign products with high prices, while they have many doubts about the first domestic products with low prices. From a scientific point of view, generally, the service life of PU coating is about 15 years. If the first coating has a service life of more than 10 years, the coating renewal should be considered, while the aging life of PVC plastic is not as good as that of PU resin, and there will be hydrochloric acid and chloride ion pollution after aging and decomposition. Therefore, the first class floor should be preferred for the bedroom floor

3. Using rubber cork as the floor, its elasticity, vibration absorption, sound absorption, sound insulation and other properties are also very good, but usually the rubber is tasteful, and special high-grade rubber is not economical, and using Pu or PUA high wear-resistant coating as the protective layer can give consideration to both performance and price, which attracts attention because it can be used in rooms and indoor sports venues

4. Cemented cork or rubber cork as the underlay of wood floor not only makes use of the elasticity, heat insulation, sound insulation and noise reduction of cork, but also builds a reliable moisture-proof layer for wood floor, simplifying the paving process of wood floor. But the cork material used must be water-resistant and mold resistant

5. The density of cork flooring products can be divided into 400~450kg/m3, 450~500kg/m3 and greater than 500kg/m3. Generally, the middle 450~500kg/m3 is commonly used. If there is no heavy object indoors, the one with low density should be selected as far as possible, because it has better elasticity, heat preservation, sound absorption, sound insulation, vibration absorption and other properties

cork floor maintenance:

1. Cork floor maintenance is simpler than other wood floors. In the process of use, it is best to avoid bringing sand into the room, and some sand particles will not wear the floor. Because the sand particles are pressed into the elastic layer at the foot after being brought in, and will be ejected when the feet leave. Of course, it should be reminded here that it is not suitable to bring too dirty and too many sand particles, which will still produce flowing wear. Therefore, the sand particles brought into the room should be removed in time. Generally, there is no need to be equipped with a vacuum cleaner, and there is no need to worry about warping, mildew and other phenomena caused by dampness

2. After three or five years of use, if there is wear elsewhere, it can be partially repaired, that is, re coating the local part. The method is very simple. Gently polish the worn part with sandpaper to remove the dirt on the surface, and then gently wipe it with a dry soft cloth to re coat it, or coat the local part with polyester film

3. The maintenance of cork floor with painted surface is the same as that of solid wood floor. Generally, it is OK to apply floor wax once half a year. The care of cork floor with resin wear-resistant layer on its surface is as simple as that of composite floor
